Advertising 2.0?
GET Interactive, an advertising technology company, and Gydget, a social media marketing platform company, are announcing a groundbreaking new capability that allows social networking users and their friends to shop for products that appear in video content on their profile pages.
I can't remember, maybe you can help me with this, but I've seen video from people with embedded keywords before. I thought that was pretty cool but apparently the above technology goes one step further allowing you to do a "if/then" command. If you click in the video while it's showing a certain product, then the corresponding website to purchase it will come up.
Think of the clamoring for which brands in videos to be spotlighted. Think of the barrage of emails(tweets/Dents?) coming from pr folks/sales reps going to video content providers....Wow we are not in Kansas anymore folks. Welcome to advertising 2.0...BTW I thought Google was working on this kinda tech for Youtube. What happened?
