3 Reasons Why Toshiba Will Get The Last Laugh Over Blu-Ray

After conceding defeat to Sony’s Blu-ray platform in the hard-fought high-definition format race earlier this year, Japanese consumer electronics giant Toshiba has put the loss of HD DVD behind it and come back to market with technology that could yet help pull the rug from beneath Blu-ray.

This isn't news, it's reality. I don't know one person who has a blu-ray player. I know some who use their PS3 to play blu-ray but they still don't purchase enough to make a difference.

What's the reasons for this? Let's try 3:

1) HDTV makes everything thing look great anyway. Really, even normal over the air channels look awesomesauce(?) so regular DVDs look better here than on the old TV format.

2) The Mainstream took years "copying" their favorite shows, movies and home videos to VCR Tape. It's bad enough we want them to watch "DVDs" instead, now they have to buy Blu-Ray? Most will never see the difference. I'm in Walmart more than I'd like and I've never seen them showcase Blu-ray on a HDTV, Have you?

3) Ah Yes, back to Toshiba, love that word Toe-Shee-bah... Why would I waste my money searching for movies not on Blu-Ray yet when I can get the Upconverter DVD Player at half the price(hopefully) and play my current collection? Really even Divx Players look good on an HDTV!

So is Toshiba full of geniuses? Was it their whole plan to make Sony focus on this overpriced tech while they find a way to make the existing just "look" better? What do YOU think? Please subscribe...
